Pain relief pills
In the past, it had been very easy to get relief from the pain just by simply taking aspirin and consulting doctor. But today, there are a lot of options available which make it very difficult to choose one from all of those. For more than 2000 years, William Bark was being used for the treatment of pain and fever. But unfortunately, it consists of the active ingredient, salicylic acid, which proved to be really hard for the stomach. Later in 1897, a German chemist developed a way of improving salicylic acid by creating acetylsalicylic acid which was called aspirin. Aspirin had been in use for a long period of time before the development of acetaminophen and ibuprofen. After that, a lot of more pain killers have been introduced. Pain relievers fall into two categories, one is acetaminophen and the other one is NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). The difference between the two is that the latter can affect the inflammation by turning it down. Different products which are being sold out for different purposes can also have the same active ingredient. It’s important to keep the information about the active ingredient to get rid of the risk of overdosing. Any cold, fever or flu reliever might have the same active ingredients as any other pain reliever has. It is also important to have knowledge about its side effects as well. The right amount of dosage at the right time would help escaping the addiction of such pain relievers. The past history of substance abuse and addiction should also be considered both by the doctor and the patient before going for the prescribed medications. The deadly combine effect of such pain relievers with alcohol, heroine and other drugs can also be life threatening.
